Hey all,

I’m looking for a way to basically strip the folders in Windows 7 and make them look like they did in Windows XP and below.

Basically, I wanna remove the entire row that says “Organize,” “System properties,” “Include in library,” and the view options, preview pane, and help button.

Is this even possible? Why Microsoft made this not easily customizable puzzles me, so if anyone can shed any light on this matter for me, I’d appreciate it.

Thanks,

skinny

To get rid of the “Organize” bar open your Shellstyle.dll file with reshacker and navigate to UIFILE > 1 then search for “FolderBand”. Underneath the line “”FolderBandStyle">" add “”rect(0rp,0rp,0rp,-32rp)“/>” then compile/save and restart explorer.

Damn, the code messed up. Remember to wrap these in tags.

style resid=“FolderBandStyle”

Element padding=“rect(0rp,0rp,0rp,-32rp)”

@crkd: I am replying to this month’s late, but I can’t seem to get this working with the Windows Classic style. I have no problem doing it with third-party or aero themes, but I cannot get it working for Windows Classic :(

@crkd: Disregard, figured it out by hacking shell32.dll

I’ve never been able to figure out modding Windows Classic, it’s quite a pain. Glad you managed to do it though!

Is there a good, minimal app that adds tabs to Win7’s Explorer?

@autopilot: search for “qttabbar”, and/or nexus file
