Oh man. I’m loving this. I love this so much. So, so much.

Let’s get the (small) things that bug me out of the way. There is a little bit of aliasing around the Cosmogramma and Pattern+Grid World (the smaller icons look great, but those two big ones have some jaggies). Secondly, the blue square in the bottom-right seems a bit out of place to me. EDIT: Actually, I’ve been looking at the shot again and I think it works. I was thinking of other colors for the icon and I think that the blue works well. Finally, font rendering in the taskbar seems a little strange. I’m not the biggest fan of the transparent winamp – I think it would fit better if it was completely opaque. The caption buttons, too, I think could be a bit larger (they seems like they would be difficult to click at times).

But I don’t care about any of the above because this has that x-factor that makes it feel special.

So ok awesome things. First of all, I love your classic shots! The main reason I don’t appreciate the recent influx of classic shots is because they’re so generic, in a sense of the word. The majority of the time, they’re just different combinations of tango icons + a 3dcc + some pixelfonts and a random palette of dark colors. Again, German car syndrome. Everything is nice, but nothing really stands out.

This, however, I like because it’s unique. It’s classic with a bit of flair, but it keeps that same utility and old school feel. The wallpaper is amazing, and so is the litestep. The way everything flows together and works with one another is just amazing. That firefox? Pure gold. Those little buttons on the bookmarks bar (I think) – perfect. Like I’ve been saying on the other SSC’11 shots, the biggest things for me are consistency and (for a lack of a better work) “specialness” In my opinion you are one of the best at doing those two things. Your older shots like Joone (which I’m actually taking as inspiration for my sub this year ;) ), paper, and SSC08 also show this same magic combination of consistency, flair, usability, and style. I think this is my favorite of yours and of the competition so far.

so yieah. this is purtyness. i kinda like the winamp transparency…maybe just a mite more opaque would be nice. honestly though, that’s a minor crit. this is just fab all around.

beautiful indeed, very nice work & totally you to a t. i love the colors on the litestep and 3dcc, but the blue for the windows sticks out a little as not meshing completely, especially on the mirc window. i agree with sang on the icons, they don’t look so good up close. the color/transparency of the winamp throws me off too, my eye is drawn to it but it doesn’t match the rest of the scheme as well as i want it to. however, i do want to say i love the ls and the wall.

in the end, only you can pull off classic so consistently, and i think this effort may be my favorite of yours yet.

Love love love this, so much personality. Gorgeous color scheme. Beautiful taskbar and popup, nice clean minimal launchy. Sexy wall, clean firefox config. Massive props for making everything yourself. Icons are by far the weakest part of the shot.

This really is beautiful; definitely the best entry we’ve seen so far. The 3DCC and Litestep play off each other so so well, and the wallpaper just totally tops it off. The only things that really bother me here are, as the others have said, the Winamp skin, and, for me, the little bits that reside in the bottom corners of your screen. I’m still not exactly sold on the blue square (primarily because it doesn’t match anything) and I feel like the black squares bottom left are a little out of place as well. But those are all small, small details, and as a whole this really is brilliantly executed. Top notch customization here, all around.

That wall is awesome. Love the setup man. Everything ties together nicely.

That wallpaper is absolutely amazing. The whole GUI matches perfect, not a big fan of the green you’ve used on the 3DCC

Mango hits it very well. Even tho I’ve never tried to customize Windows I got a feeling that a lot of work has been done and alot of time has been spend.

The wallpaper is great and the colors’ refreshing! Im personally no fan of transparency on windows and I dont get the small icons in the middle row on Firefox but thats just small details.

I love this. Pushing the envelope of classic with unique colors, icons, and LS. Everything is so clear and well thought out. A contender for sure.

This is very fresh for a classic shot. The color choice is very balsy. Personally, I’m not a big fan, but I guess it’s a matter of taste.

Also needs some more work here and there, I’m not digging the Winamp playlist, for example.
