WOW. Now that’s what I’m talking about! The purple on the “connecting” widget could fit better but man this is good. Window borders are a beauty. VLC looks great – love the social widgets on the litestep.

however, i miss a clock and have to agree with sang, if instead the purple color was the same as the vlc progress bar, i’d love it more

Please design Windows next OS! @ nosphere there is a clock icon on the Litestep taskbar. I’m guessing if you select oh highlight it a clock will appear. Update:congrats on the win, now any up and release it :P

Yeah, this is real proper. I love the bottom right-hand corner, with the speech bubble and whatnot. The scroll bars are a bit soft for my liking, and I kinda wish more would’ve been done with to fill up explorer’s toolbar, but those are really just minor details. Huge props for making the Firefox skin yourself, it looks great!

Doubting the purple “connecting” widget. Doesn’t quite jive with everything else. Excellent design you have though. Heh, I had the same wall on my desk a couple of days ago. :0

You’re guys are totally right. Upcloud doesn’t match to the wallpaper, 2 minutes before taking the screenshot i’ve changed the wallpaper from that one

And I was running of time with my entry, so the Styler Toolbar isn’t really finished yet. There’s even a bug and i mixed up those two buttons for list and thumbnail view :P

Just hit the ALT button when you click on “Show as thumbnails” on the right click menu.

And yes, If you click that clock button, the clock and the systray slides in.

Great work as usual! Not a huge fan of the purple connecting thing and the scrollbars, but the rest is really nice! Love the litestep.

Edit: I am not a huge fan of the “glowy” effect on the taskbar buttons to the right.

I love the purple connection thingy! I wish you had used the purple more in this setup – it looks so lonely but is such a nice color. Not sure about the nav. bar in firefox. It fit perfect on that website but I doubt it’s equally nice on other websites.

great shot all around. love the font rendering and the taskbar. the popup is probably my least favourite part. i dont mind the purple on connect thing. i think it gives it a good feeling of not beeing connected yet

i like everything going on in the lower right, as well as the styler skin and the scrollbars. are the social things in the lower right actually widgets or just links?

i really wish you’d gone with arial all around though. 9pt segoe ui is the bane of my existence and just reminds me of default w7 way too much (as does the windows flag: :-/). some more detail on the popup would’ve helped as well. i like the vlc skin a lot, and i agree with others that the purple looks alright and could even have been peppered in more.

all in all, great work torsten :)

Well hot damn, this is gorgeous. The caption gradient is perfect. The detailing in the controls on the right of the bar are excellent, and the VLC progress bar is real slick.

I’ll agree with bernadinho that the popup is probably my least favorite part, but I really enjoy the treatment of the active item. (How exactly does that work, is the location of the inset on the submenu fixed, so it only lines up when you select settings? Are you using OverlayPopup?)

I’m generally a not a fan of these clean “abstract” walls, and would be curious to see a shot using the other you linked to.

Amazing taskbar

Even though this is streamlined and minimal, its still full of detail. The bevel on the caption and movie player buttons, the customized icons in the taskbar, the notch in the LS popup, etc. separate this from other minimal shots. While this setup isn’t as complete as your past entries, this is still a very very good desk.

I like the way the shadows and borders can look using TrueTransparency. Which is the best part of this shot to me. I think the scrollbars could use some work here and I don’t think everything matches up perfectly. Overall its a great shot and nice job on skinning all those apps.

Litestep its awesome,and i`m glad we have guys like you and many others with good inspiration and skils on theming our desktop.

Last question ,is this a Mockup or it will be released ? i wud be verry happy to use this amazing work you did.
