Artist Notes

I give up… Here’s my sub for SSC’12. A lot of tweaks going on here. I sacrificed the statusbar for minimalism (and well I never really pay attention to my signals and stats). The icon png’s are so oddly shaped that I had to turn on summerboard mode in winterboard. Without it, the icons squish back to the original icon size. tl dr Iphone are confusing to mod.

Original Idea based off of amana2 by MangoSango.

Icons : a2 by me

Lockscreen : a2 by me

Wall : Random blurred photo by me

Deck : by me

Deck Icons : Entypo by Daniel Bruce [link]

Background by Jared Nickerson (j3concpets)

Tweaks: Iconoclasm (custom layout by me), Deck(App switcher looking thing)

Simple but usable :) Entypo Icons fit nicely with your setup.

I also like those Homescreen icons with (chinese) text.
How did you set up two lines for App names, and moved it over to the right?
Whats that bar on the bottom, looks like you opened “Deck” with it, I thought there are only finger gestures to do that.

This is the best mobile shot I’ve seen here at PF. Does it work as intended? What do the expansion arrows at the bottom right do? I’m amazed that this is IOS.

The text is actually part of the icon itself(I cheated). Although I believe you can mimic the icon setup with a custom .plist. That bottom bar is just the iOS dock. I used blank icons to push the settings and folder icon to the right. Deck is controlled via home button :-D

@Man.I
Yarp, although I spent more time on the icon layout and making it work rather than the icon details :l The “full screen” icon opens folder enhancer(basically a folder replacement app but has the ability to open in full screen.)

@atersken
Thank you :)
Well, the base is inspired by Sang’s amana2 shot and amana.jp. I kept the Japanese text for aesthetics, although I’m sure some Icons have the wrong names. A lot has changed since when I first started. link

@akka
I threw the icons together last minute. :( Excluding the mail icon. I could try to make the icons a little rounder..

Working with a 3gs here D: Resolution isn’t as spectacular as the retina devices..

@Sang

SHH DONT TELL THEM

I was too lazy to fix the icons(text is also par tof the png). They’re removed in the updated version I’m working on :D

Love the lock screen, and that home screen app organization is very nice. Sounds like you’re using a couple clever solutions/workarounds.

I wish the icons were more interesting and the curves better smoothed.

Wallpaper and typography are excellent. Definitely one of my favorite iOS shots I’ve seen.

This is gorgeous and original. The navigation is very interesting and everything jives pretty well. Keep up the good hacking Toki!

Couldn’t make it for voting. However as i do not really know about the complexity of mobile-customizing (well, coming from apple, it has to be a PIAS…), i don’t feel like having the power to vote. It does looks really beautiful though.
