After a couple of really nice nix shots lately, I’m convinced it can be pushed pretty far in terms of theming. This desk seems to only be customized on the very surface and because of that the default scaffolding is very evident. There’s little synergy between the individual components. You have a nice base theme and the dock is great, but I’d like to see the rest of the OS polished up to better jive with your overall theme.

The gradients, shadows and icons (fonts too) in the gtk all feel a little overdone and clumsy, and could use a little polish. I’ll also second the rest of Josh’s sentiments. Great wall though, and the whole setup does look nice and quiet and easy to use.

i guess as a mainly-linux-user dude, i have a general aversion to that style of gtk theme, ie raised-brushed-metal-mac style, and the font is kinda boring. you did clearly change a lotta stuff though, which is cool, and i’m sure it works well for you. i do kinda like the metacity theme though.
id say look back at your sgnfcnt shot, cause that was headed (imo) in the right direction in terms of a cohesive shot. keep goin dude
