this is damn smooth, torsten. what os are you using? i remember you working on a panel like the one on the left in samurize when you first moved over to w7, nice to see that come to fruition in this shot, even if it’s a little bulky for my tastes. does it hide on hotkey or something?

the vs is dead simple but really, really sharp. the only thing about it that i’m not in love with is the caption buttons, but they fit the shot pretty well. that twitter panel is also really cool, what’s running that? finally, even though i don’t really like docks, the background you’ve got on yours is one of the best i’ve ever seen. i do think the icons could match the overall fit of the setup a little better, but they’re gorgeous in their own rite.

First of all, I wish I could give 110, not 100. Then, I find the caption buttons an awesome idea. Regarding the dock icons, I agree with Nitzua. I would personally use some black glossy icons to match the rest.

Great interpretation of the original mockups Torsten! I have to agree with Eric on the caption buttons, but I do love the contrasting dock icons!

holy shit dude. pretty. i’d gotten kinda bored of the transparent window borders i’d seen, but this does it beautifully and subtly. everything about this is done well, so the only thing that stands out for me are the dock icons and the cut off ‘4’ in the weather/date window. good stuff

Love the widgets and the ls popup – those glass borders look great!

My only reservations are about the caption buttons (as nitz pointed out). They hand over a little bit over the glass border, which bugs me just a little bit.

Otherwise this is looks great! Classic novoo :)

I actually can’t fault this. I personally love the dock icons; they’re a little splash of colour in an otherwise black and white desk. And I love the subtle glass frames everywhere as well. Absolutely superb shot.

Crisp and beautiful. That’s one of my all-time favorite walls, and I use it often. As always, you set the bar high. Why aren’t the bottom corners in the side panel rounded?

Damn good, not much to add. Like the integration of everything, minus the close-min-max buttons it just feels “off”.

The only things I could change could be

- the caption buttons (logotype glyphs instead of words)
- the glass borders (a simple shadow may have looked neater)
- and what nitzua said, the coloured icons in the dock don’t match

Otherwise, this is just excellent in every way. It bears all the hallmarks and trademarks of your work.

I´ve got to say I love the image viewer and the Twitter widget! Great work on this setup Torsten and I am glad this Suite has a glimpse to the world now :)

This would have been #1 if Windows had better font rendering capabilities. Gdipp would have given you the edge for the contest.

i’m glad to see you’re still developing this style and haven’t run into a dead end with it. it’s clean, it’s elegant and it’s very fresh.

my biggest criticism is the caption buttons. this theme is so visually pleasing and to use those caption buttons just strikes me as odd and incomplete. otherwise, it’s pretty damn good.

i also wish you would be a little more adventurous with the colour scheme. it’s been pretty much the same since the first GAIA release and that might be for continuity’s sake, i get that, but i’d be very happy to see a new take on it.

that panel is a pretty nice idea. does it just resize as tasks are added? does it cut them off at a point and use a scroll bar or something? very good integration there and a really fresh spin on ls.

the wall is great. the overall theme is great. even though most of this has been seen before you always manage to change some little things here and there so that it looks new :).
my favourite part is probably the amana-ish date/time/weather info window in the lower right part. that panel on the left is top-notch too, even though it takes away a lot of space.

I really do love how this looks. The concept is spot on. My favorite part is actually what Josh called the omniuberwidget. Looks pretty and functional.

My only gripe is with the lone explorer window. I’m guessing it’s xp with a tt theme, by the lack of thumbnail shadows. Also since the explorer window appears to have no text do you actually use a blank font for your system windows throughout?
