Is there anyway you could work on getting this ready for download from others? I’d pay money for a good and WORKING win7 litestep build and theme etc.

Eitherway, kudos this looks really amazing. The IM client skin maybe looks a tad flat, but still sorta fits everything else anyways.

You did a great job. Everything is very clean and professional.

Somewhat unrelated: would it be possible to send me your litestep files(not themes, just modules and exe and such) or something. I’m still having trouble getting it to work on 64 bit 7 :(

@auan thumnail shadows are default in windows 7

The taskbar is really cool and the popup is already a classy

Almost entirely flawless, the only thing I can think of is that the taskbar is a teeny bit too far from the top of the screen. Otherwise, this is a superb LS shot. You are easily one of the best.

Popup:
A bit boring (SEAL default would’ve looked better IMO).

Mass Effect Launchy:
Slightly vauge in function, but good to look at.

Taskbar:
Best thing in the shot, very detailed, tons of knobs and switches for those who like to be difficult while not being over-powering.

CAD:
Nothing really to say. Seems good.

This is amazing. One of these shots that get me really upset about my lack of customizing skills, ’cause if I could, I would totally try to recreate this here.
Is there a special tip to make LS work well with Windows 7?

excellent work sang. as others have said, this looks very tight and professional. i especially like the double-stacked bar on top.

it’s definitely your style, and as torsten said fairly similar to some of your other efforts, but you always manage to put even more polish into your work every time.

You got LiteStep running on Windows 7 x64? Because the last time I heard, LiteStep refuses to run on that platform.

Great job with the LiteStep; I especially like that taskbar.

That’s a great setup man. The font{s} look wonderful. I wish more had been done with the popup, but that’s small potatoes. And the taskbar looks delicious. Also the wall really brings this together as well. :)

Thanks for the comments! – I basically coded everything overnight so the litestep is far from stable. Labels will randomly disappear and the control panel is virtually inaccessible (except through .cpl shortcuts).

@ RequestedRerun: Sure thing, I can note you the files over dA or something.

@Soundwarrior: I found that setshell 64-bit (http://www.facebook.com/notes/litestep-shell-replacement/64bit-setshell-utility/142788409511) helps with litestep in Win7 x64.

@eXAKR: I’ve heard it’s hit-or-miss. You have to install litestep using the latest version of LOSI and then use the files in the 0.25.0 alpha build. Then, instead of using litestep’s built-in “set litestep as shell” command, you should use setshell 64bit (linked above).

@nuuvo: Thanks :D – Indeed I am really happy with the font rendering! Although GDI++ doesn’t render in explorer because it’s not 64-bit it does wonders in everything else. I am using a custom config that tones down the boldness of the stock GDI++ settings.

That wallpaper doesn’t quite fit the setup in my opinion, but the rest is amazing! It could be because I’m not totally awake yet, but the font rendering looks different from normal, so smooth. The taskbar is definitely my favourite thing here, I love how you incorporated an eject button there and the tool icons fit great as well!

You’ve set yourself up – you submit things that make us have high expectations of you, but you never fail to impress, just as terrific as always.

The overclock alert text is neat, and that launchy is really slick.

The taskbar is really slick, you’ve really got something nice going for you with it and it’d be cool to see another setup with that same taskbar stylization in the future.

also, I just noticed this was win7, you got two more points for that, I know win7 can be a hassle.

As I said on Devart, this is my favorite, non-retroish shot of the contest.

Beautiful contact list, and the gradients in the taskbar and caption bar are spot on. I especially like the bit at the right of the bar, and I think my favorite part of the shot is the scrollbar. It’s simple, but clear and concise, with just enough contrast. The launchy config is pretty creative.

My only criticism is the sacrifice of usability here and there for cleanliness’s sake: no menubars, toolbars, hidden url bar, no caption text, icons. (I know it’s not just you, but think it’s worth mentioning here.)

How are the borderless windows working for you on Windows 7? I don’t know much about it. Does the date showing every two seconds get annoying? I’d think just showing on hover would be sufficient.

I’m more a fan of your other works MangoSango such as your Sonar and Lyra suites. But your style and contributions have been such a big influence on not only myself but the community as well that I think you deserve to win.

Heck your work is one of the reasons why I migrated from OS X back to Win7/XP. :)

this is by far my favourite of the contest. everything here looks very clean and polished. you see the value in gradients and use them well. this is a setup i’d enjoy using.

the wallpaper is not necessarily something i’d go for – but it works and contrasts well against the cleanliness of the rest of the theme.

is the album art ls? i really like it. simple and clean.

Extra bonus points for using an OS that’s been released within the last 8 years. Beautiful taskbar and a really cohesive setup. But as in novoo’s shot the explorer window is absent of text, there must be some sacrifice of usability there?

Its all about the details here as with all great shots. I absolutely love the taskbar. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a double taskbar quite like that before. I also liked how you worked in some custom functionality to suit your needs. It looks legitimately useful. I’m really digging the cleanliness of the borderless windows and the captions bars.

I think my only gripes are what’s not in the screenshot. I sense some usability sacrifices without some of the missing system text and browser components, but that’s understandable. We don’t do yard work in our Sunday best.
