For some reason I really like the top bar and right weather, they look very sharp and sleek. The rest looks obviously the same theme/idea but kinda more soft/rounded, which… iunno would be neat to see the entire thing be more like the top bar as far as minimalism goes.

Pretty nice font choices, very readable and almost make my eyes feel happy if that’s possible.

hide the explorer bar until mouseover? sweet.

this needs some font size matching, but other than that, looks really comfy.

This is hot, I’m a big fan of the work substyle. And I’m really digging that top bar.

I like to browse the garb on context clothing.
And need supply co., and the stuff they throw together on uncrate.

I’d prob replace the system font with something a little less wide, but otherwise its great. The italicized serif font in the middle is a refreshing juxtaposition to the other fonts.

I could have preferred it if you got both the top and bottom bars at the same height, but otherwise the only thing I might complain about is the blandness and the colour choice of the wallpaper, which may be my personal preference.

I dig. Just don’t think the wall jives well with the VS.The explorer hack is really cool though! And yeah, the fonts look nice on the eyes.

Disrupted are kings of usability. The explorer window’s slick (though the shadow under the bar is a little heavy), and the wall provides nice contrast. Digging it.

Yeah, I don’t know if I’m just an idiot or if the APPOWS Litestep just didn’t like me, but I had no luck at all changing the font size on the theme to match the rest; but after a while, I kind of gave up because it was oddly comfortable.

eXAKR, I originally had the top bar the same height as the bottom, but it just looked a little clunky. That said, I did have a hell of a time getting icons to work on the smaller bar, so if I expand on this, I may just make the bar larger and use 16×16 icons for convenience.

Akka, the explorer shadow is a little heavy, but that’s due to the explorer bar being hidden until mouseover; it would have looked a lot more clean had I removed it outright, but you never know when it might come in handy (hasn’t happened yet, though).

bedroompop, yes, Madeline is tremendous. She puts on a good live show, too. I always look forward to your screenshots just because your music taste so closely mirrors my own (which I suppose makes us the only two people on PF with any real taste, eh?)

I guess my aim with this shot — and one with which I feel I succeeded — was to create a simple, usable workstation-style setup; I had no intentions of winning the contest (and in retrospect I shouldn’t have subbed to the SSC category), but since I’ve been away for so long, it felt good to get back into the game.

Quite usable indeed. I actually find the wall colors to be a tad over saturated.

Appows is great and such a useable theme. My main comments would be on the top bar and albumart. imo the gradient on the album art doesn’t really match the gradient on the bottom taskbar, and the font color for the song title on the top bar could be darkened a little bit to match the clock font on the bottom.

I’m really just nitpicking though, this is good stuff.
