Artist Notes

I’m supposed to be working on Gaia stuff, but I had a good idea and it just sort of snowballed. You know how things can go ;)

very cool, the font looks great. do you think you could get it looking that nice with gdi++?

the wall is gorgeous…author?

i was never a huge fan of vertical taskbars like that, but i think if you made the part where there are no buttons transparent or even took it out altogether, this would be solid as hell.

This is a nice treat. Beautiful taskbar, font rendering and wallpaper. The tt seems kind of weak, but I’m looking forward to seeing this more developed.

LOVELY!
would prefer the taskbar on the right – as otherwise the close button ‘x’ is not easily reached (as it normally is by sliding the mouse carelessly to the right and up).

this is hot, some more launcher shortcuts on the right and a drop-down task list would be pretty awesomesauce for a netbook with a larger resolution

Edit: I’m torn between the same decision, I think I found the one i want though, but it’s a tad bit costly, the upside is it can play quite a few (non graphically intensive) games. and get like 25fps in 20 man raids in WoW, 60 fps in major cities. Asus n10jh – get at it!

This is really cute. My favorite part is the taskbar, but I really like the tt- I like the bigger shadow and the amusement style close button. Great colors too. :D

@ nitz – Thanks! I forgot about wall credits (they are added in the description now). I was also thinking of making the taskbar’s background more transparent (something like one of kowoolo’s old shots), but I couldn’t quite get it to jive together as nicely. I’ll keep at it. I will definitely try to get the font rendering to look like the mock, but I’m not entirely confident. My old gdi++ setup was pretty close, but I had to change to gdipp because of 64-bit. I reckon I can get it to be pretty close if I play around with some settings though.
@ fkant – Thanks!
@ akka – Thanks, it’s only a mockup as of now, but I hope to keep refining it as the process goes on.
@ yboris – Great insight! Thanks for the hint, I will definitely take that into consideration when refining and editing the design :)
@ kody – I might even get to use this on a netbook! I’m thinking of buying a cheap one at some point (I’m torn between the ipad and a netbook, but I don’t think I have enough money to blow on what is essentially a giant iphone/ipod touch :0).
@ requestedRerun – Thanks! Amusement is definitely one of my favorite tt’s and I’ve always wanted to do something with a similar style :)

omg this is so hot. The colours are yum. May I say that I don’t think raindropmemory’s icons fit here? Something cleaner would fit better I think.

Raindropmemory is a fun artist to base shit around.
I think I’d like the closewindow button if it were accompanied by more friends, but thats nitpicking. nice mock.

Great concept, but obviously still early in development. There are going to be a lot wanting to get their hands on this for sure. This in itself seems like it would jive well w/ the whole Gaia theme.
