all in all, this pretty basic, but looks fairly usable. props for sharing.

I’m thinking of moderating this.

Edit: I said why. There’s not enough detail to merit a high ranking, I’m not being harsh. Content in the screen is good because it actually shows how the window will be displayed. I don’t understand an appeal to this because it’s so bare-bone. I just don’t feel as if there’s anything here. The flat style went out in 2005.

If you want to roll with a flat style, put subtle details in it. Maybe some nice borders or slight gradients. No offense but is that really the scrollbar you chose for this? A 1px black rectangle?

Who says I haven’t used it? I don’t throw around rankings like it’s going out of style.

If you’re going to release a VS, especially of the “flat” style – you really need to put some extra thought in how you’re going to make it stand out. See http://customize.org/xpthemes/34699 for a great example. This was done in 2004 when the old community was banging. Flat and minimal doesn’t mean non detailed and unrefined.

um, the whole idea of the purposely flat style (which some people like! aka preferences) is to show what the style looks like, not to show off a screenshot.

@audacious / is it that noticeable? i tried to get that as best as i could, which was annoyingly difficult, but i’m happy with it..

all in all, thanks to those that’ve tried it, or will, and can appreciate it in some form!

As nitzua said it looks pretty usable and as usual, everything is very neat and clean – maybe a little too clean for my tastes ;)

@chris: damn man, i mean its simple and some parts im not a huge fan of, but i dont think it deserves moderation…

i’m using it atm on my laptop, works well and is very clean and cheerful. that said: the programs/logoff/shutdown buttons, while interesting, are kinda difficult and pixelated, and some of the corners in general seem rough?

Looks like a pretty basic minimal theme. It reminds me of the old Nano suite. I won’t rate since I can’t use it.

I’m using this in an XP virtual machine, I think it’s pro. Real solid, and goes nicely with some of Mango’s stuff :D

@ Chris, you have to use the VS first before you can make a reasonable admin assessment bro. It may help you when offering bedroompop pointers if you see something that can make a delicious variation.

Besides, it’s not one of those aesthetically bizarre amiga system shots…

haven’t tried it yet, however it does look good, to me it has an area04 feeling in it, surely deserves testing
