this looks clean, and a great start overall. what would really tie this together is if the weather, cpu widget in the top left, and the all the info on the transparent bar underneath the taskbar took on the style of the widget in the bottom right.

I REALLY like this style, only two small pointers are: it’s a little too busy, for me, with all the conky configs, and I agree with Nitzua’s point about matching all the monitors/widgets better. It’s a superb Linux shot though, all in all.

I like this much. Everything matches and you have a lot of good stuff showing. I’m not sure how much you can tweak fonts on nix, but the fonts on the stats up top can use some tweaking and I think the main system font could use some more contrast. Nitz brings up an interesting idea with some of the system stats as well. Really solid desk overall.

Great desk! Everything fits well together and I can tell you’ve put down quite some time to get it like this. But it’s a little bit to cluttered, to much conky imo. You probably know you’re on 10.04 by now and who really cares about the exact kernel version? ;) But other then that it’s really nice.

@Man.I I second that. I recently changed WM and got sick of all panel/taskbars and after using my sisters macbook I thought a dock may do the job, but unfortunately on linux it didn’t :( so atm I’m using neither dock or panel

yeah this actually looks way comfy and smooth, i dig it. i have a personal grudge against those “perspective-y” docks, but hey thats just me. nice job

congrats on the feature! this certainly deserves it, and its motivating me to waste even more time learning about linux theming

I’m thoroughly impressed by this shot. The little sidebar with emule and BT download is hot sex. I love the pacman icon :D

All in all, this is a total bitch slap to KDE users who knock gmone ( I know ya’ll out there, stop hatin’)

Admins need to get this featured for those who are unaware of the theming capacity of linux systems.

*EDIT: I fucking hate linux docks. It’s like having lamborghini doors on a mini van. Just IMO

@ Geti: linux is an efficient OS. Suicide doors are aesthetically pretty, but do not contribute to efficiency, thus, Lambo doors on a mini van.

mini van = efficient linux
suicide doors = linux dock
Hot sex inside the mini van = Gnome Do

Nice shot, I’m working on a thin captionbar theme at the moment and this is nice usage of that. Shot’s a bit busy, but it looks comfortable. <3 that soft grey.

@fate: you kidding? absolutely everything about a *nix system is supposed to be at the fingertips of the user. He’d have had to fuck about with them to get the ones on the dock happening anyway ;)

@man.I: elaborate on the van analogy? Linux is faster that other OS’s so surely it’s the wrong way around? O_o

EDIT: get it now, cool. I laughed at the last point as well :P

Some of it’s a little low contrast for my likings, but this is smooth and thorough. Respect.
